One Lubbock police officer has a lot invested in keeping drunk drivers off the streets. He just made his 1,005th DWI arrest! Sergeant Ross Hester hit that 1,005 DWI arrest mark last weekend.

He started on patrol duty back in 1987, and says the arrest number was never a goal, but he hopes that through his efforts, he's saved lives and helped make Lubbock a safer place, "That's one down, that's two down, that's three down, and it got to the point where it was just a habit of counting and I never stopped counting. Somewhere down the line, I'd like to believe that I've made the difference in somebody."
