Flu season is at its peak this month and while no cases have been reported, more people are suffering from flu-like symptoms. Thanks to the correct flu strain in vaccinations this year, the Health Department says the number of people infected with the flu is down. Still, health care workers are seeing more patients with fevers, chills, coughs and muscle aches - all flu-like symptoms.

"The medications that are given for the flu obviously do not treat the flu they just treat the symptoms, and usually those are not going to be effective unless they come in within the first 24 hours. After that the best recommendations are to wait it out, make sure they're drinking enough fluids. Tylenol, Motrin when they need it for the aches," says physician assistant Kristina Lee.

Many clinics around town and the Health Department all offer flu shots, and they say it's not too late to get one.
