Two people are in jail tonight, after Lubbock police say they stole a car and led officers on a high-speed chase.  Police say the owner started his car to warm it up, then went back inside his apartment on the 1500 Block of East Cornell. That's when the two men stole the car. Police soon spotted the car at 4th and I-27.  The thieves wrecked the car after a short chase, and officers were able to arrest them. Now, police are reminding all of us that it's not safe to leave your car running, unattended, and if you're caught doing it, you could actually get a ticket.  It's called the "Unattended Motor Vehicle Law" and if you're caught violating it, it's a Class C Misdemeanor.
