In just over a week, Barack Obama will begin his term as our 44th President.

Joining the already unprecedented crowd expected at Obama's Inauguration, dozens of folks from Lubbock County.

President-elect Barack Obama will be sworn in on January 20th.

Crowd estimates at the event have ranged from two to four million people.

We spoke to Lubbock County Democratic Party Chair, Pam Brink, who tells us she knows of about 22 folks here making the trip to Washington.

"I've been engaged in this process since last January really, and it just seemed to be the natural thing to do, to go to the Inauguration and welcome in this new promising era," Brink says.

If you're interested in watching the Inauguration, but can't make it to Washington, there will be an Inaugural Ball on January 20th at the Civic Center.
