The fire started on the second floor of the high school around 11:45 Monday morning, and burned for hours.

Both Lockney and Floydada firefighters battled the flames.

Also, there were four other unrelated fires around town including the gin burned on Sunday. Lockney Sherrif Paul Raissez says vandalism that happened on Sunday may be related to the school fire.

Classes were cancelled for the entire school. We're told the school is a total loss. Officials are investigating.

If you have any information about this fire, call the Sheriff's Office at 983-4901.
