After word this week that a Lubbock woman faked a story, in order to receive charitable donations, we wondered if you may be hesitant to donate in the future. We hope you keep in mind, your generosity has helped many others with real needs.

Rachel Benites preyed upon the generosity of Lubbock residents when she claimed she'd been robbed while she was at a chemotherapy treatment. While her plea was a false one, so many truly do need help. Many people have rightly benefited from the compassion of Lubbock residents, including the De La Cerda family, whose home burned down on Thanksgiving Day.

Says Felix De La Cerda, "I do not think we would make it, would have even been halfway there without the people of Lubbock's help."
