Circuit City to Close All Locations

Circuit City announced Friday they're closing all stores across the country....including the one here in Lubbock. That means nearly 34,000 employees will be layed off after the closing of its remaining 567 stores.
The company filed for Chapter Eleven bankruptcy in November, and was hoping to find a buyer to stay open. Now, they plan to liquidate all their merchandise pending court approval. Local shoppers have already started flocking to the store here to score some deals. Corporate headquarters announced their website sales will end on January 18th. They plan to liquidate stores until the end of March.
