Thousands of dollars worth of drugs, an illegal gambling operation, and two suspected gang members. That's what the Lubbock Sherriff's office took off the street during a raid this week. Just after 5 last night, the sheriffs office -- acting on a tip out of South Texas -- set up a drug bust at a motel on Slaton Highway.

Officers surrounded the area, not only did they arrest two suspects for attempting to buy cocaine, they discovered an illegal gambling operation right here in Lubbock.

The two suspects, 34-year-old Jimmy Cordova and 24-year-old Abrosio Garcia, were trying to buy about 5 kilos of cocaine from undercover Sheriff's deputies. That's nearly $100,000 dollars worth.

Both suspects are convicted felons, and both are members of Texas Syndicate Gang.

Upon further investigation, it was also discovered the suspects are involved with illegal gambling at the Pot of Gold on 19th Street. 18 Eight Liners were confiscated, after it was discovered the pay-outs were in cash, an illegal activity here in Lubbock.

If convicted, the two suspects could face up to 99 years or life in prison.
