Investigations Begin on FedEx Cargo Plane Crash

National Transportation Safety Board officials are now in Lubbock, trying to figure out what caused the fiery crash of a FedEx cargo plane early Tuesday morning.
We spoke with Peter Knudson with NTSB, he says today was really just about gathering initial documentation -- things like photographs and observations. So far investigators on the scene haven't found anything too suspicious, but the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder will be removed from the wreckage and will be examined.
Now -- James Loomis with Lubbock International told us Tuesday that despite ice and wintry conditions, he did not think weather was a reason for the crash. He says the runway was free of ice and visibility in the air was good. NTSB says they will still investigate every angle, and hopefully will have some more information for us in the next couple of days.
