An alleged parking ticket sends a Tech student into a frenzy that leaves two cop cars with almost $4,000 dollars in damages. Just after 11:00 last night, 20-year-old Hugh Powers took out his frustrations for the apparent ticket with a golf club.

He shattered the windows and damaged the spotlights of two police cruisers parked at Glen's Automotive Repair on Slide Road. He also damaged a private resident's car. Police arrested Powers at the scene. He faces felony criminal mischief charges and could spend up to two years in prison.

Says Travis Conley, a Glen's mechanic, "I was just thinking, good grief, if he went off like this over a parking ticket, if somebody made him really mad or something, he couldve went and got a gun. He left a pretty good mess, but at least nobody was hurt or injured or anything like that."
