A West Lubbock mother is warning other parents to be careful, after a man recently made sexual comments to her daughter, as the girl walked home from school.

It happened Wednesday afternoon on the 5400 of 17th Place. The 12-year-old, 6th grader at Mackenzie Middle School told police an Hispanic man in a pick-up passed her twice, and when he caught up to her a third time, he pulled over, rolled down the window, and asked her what color panties she was wearing. Now, the little girl knew to get away from there and she's fine tonight, but the girl's mother, Allana Kane, says kids and parents must always stay alert.

"We're grateful that nothing else did come of it, but before something else does happen, we want everyone to know.  For someone that age, it's just completely inappropriate.  You just don't ask a child a question like that and we just want to let all the neighbors and everyone know so, the kids are safe. That's the main thing," Kane says.

The Hispanic man in the truck was in his late 30's with a crew cut, mustache, and goatee. He was driving a silver extended cab pick-up. If you know something about this incident, or the man involved, make sure you call police.
