TTU Tuition Hike?

Texas Tech students may be paying more for school next year. On Friday, the Board of Regents met to discuss tuition rates for the 2009-2010 school year. They set a "maximum tuition increase," saying the absolute most tuition will go up is 9.9%. Right now, the percentage increase is just a proposal.

Chancellor Kent Hance says their top priority is to keep their student fees low. "Last year, we were the only school in the nation that did not increase tuition, fees, or room and board, and we have really been the leader in this area, and we're trying to make sure we keep it as low as possible because we don't want to price people away from higher education."
