Suspects Named in Drug Bust Arrests

By: Julie Musgrave
Updated: March 6, 2009

New details tonight in the four people arrested late Thursday afternoon after a drug bust in Central Lubbock. Police took into custody 21-year-old Leovigildo Savedra, 29-year-old Brandon Zavala, 33-year-old Sally Ann Alonzo, and 25-year-old Salvador Trevino.

All four were taken into custody after police found about 160 pounds of marijuana in their home Thursday afternoon, as well as $20,000 cash.

Today we spoke with nearby neighbors, they say an event like this is surprising, especially when this neighborhood is known for being family oriented.

Ryan Snyder, neighbor: "This is actually a nice neighborhood, we have nice neighbors, it's not filled with a bunch of younger kids, you know. It's families around here. My house is one of the few houses that is college kids, and to know that that could happen in, ya know, a neighborhood like this, with families, it's kind of nervewracking."

All four suspects have been charged with possession of five to fifty pounds of marijuana, they could face 2nd degree felony charges for the amounts that were in their possession.
