Neighbors who live beside the intersection where Friday's deadly car wreck took place want to make sure an accident like that never happens again. Cheri Bradford and Angela Keen started a petition Saturday to make the intersection a four-way stop with flashing lights. They tell us they see fender benders and near misses happen right outside their door every two to three months, and don't feel safe raising famlies so close to the dangerous roads. They plan to take their petition and signatures to the Texas Department of Transportation to see if they can make their streets a little safer.

"It's scary. It's just scary. Every time you hear that helicopter you say a prayer that it's not first of all one of your children and second of all whoever's in the accident, that there are no fatalities," says Angela Keen.

The petition will be circulating through area schools, chruches and businesses in Shallowater. You can also stop by B-Man's BBQ to sign the petition. It's located on the corner of that same intersection - CR 1700 and FM 2641.
