State schools in Texas seem to be garnering a lot of negative attention recently, the latest being out of Corpus Christi, where police say they have evidence of resident mistreatment by staff members.

Police in Corpus Christi say staff members at it's State School have been forcing residents into fighting each other for the staff's entertainment. This startling discovery has prompted the Senate to pass an emergency measure that would create more oversight on state schools. In the past couple of months, several problems have developed out of state schools. Here in lubbock, reports claimed that staff weren't doing an acceptable job in preventing residents from physically and sexually abusing each other.

Now videos from Corpus Christi show staff members forcing mentally and physically disabled residents to kick, push and punch each other, then claiming a 'winner' of the fight. This story has many lawmakers furiously trying to get something done to clean up state schools.

As a parent of a Lubbock State School resident, Phil Crenshaw is furious to hear of what's happening in Corpus Christi.

Crenshaw: "It's unbelievable that it would be ongoing, you know it might be something that's instigated for a weekend by some staff members who didn't have anything better to do, but if this is ongoing over a period of time, it's not only unacceptable, it's almost unbelievable."

Crenshaw says even though he has been happy with Lubbock State School, he agrees with an increased oversight program for all state schools.
