Even though it's technically spring, winter has returned to the South Plains.
We thought we'd seen the last of the snowflakes in our area weeks ago, but that's not so.
Many of us woke up to drifting snow and freezing temperatures Friday morning, which could mean dangerous driving conditions.
The Texas Department of Transportation offers some precautions for drivers before heading out on the roads.
1. Check area weather conditions on radio or television before starting a trip.
2. Keep well back from snowplows.
3. Never drive through a snow cloud or other whiteout conditions.
4. Use caution when driving over bridges and overpasses.
5. Reduce speed and drive with caution.
6. Be patient.
7. Assemble a winter storm kit.
