Storm season is right around the corner and that means the south plains storm spotting team will soon hit the roads of west Texas.
A year ago, the team was ordered to take down an important antenna in Kent County.
That antenna allowed direct and immediate communication between the team and the National Weather Service.
But now, with the help of WestTex Connect, the team found a new home for the repeater radio link in Kent County.
Storm spotters say getting that equipment back up on a tower was crucial to help keep the families of the eastern south plains safe during severe weather.
That radio is just one of seven that are strategically spread throughout our region.
