A Lubbock Cooper student presented her senior project today...a memorial for her sister who was killed in a car crash last year.
Kayla and Kelsey Vines were hit by a large truck while driving last September. Kelsey died from her injuries. Now, Kayla set to use her senior project to honor her twin Kelsey, and today hundreds gathered to remember her on the twin's birthday.
Becky Vines, Twins' Mother:
"It just reaffirms that Kelsey was so special and that she had so many friends and so many people loved her and she just touched so many lives and we just miss her so much."
Kayla Vines, Kelsey's Sister:
"Everyone, when they lose a sibling...the grieving process is all the same but for twin you can't really describe it because of the special bond that we shared....it's just indescribable."
Over six hundred people bought shirts with Kelsey's old basketball number on the back. The proceeds from those shirts helped pay for the memorial garden.
