The new owner of Lubbock's Tara House has run into a few problems relocating the historic mansion. Mike Haggard's already put the house on wheels, and plans to move it a few miles north next week. In order to move the house, he has to pay the electric companies to lift their power lines so the Tara House can pass through. Haggard says a few of those companies want him to pay far too much to move their lines, and he says he really just wants to save a historic landmark.

"Saves on materials, wood, we're trying to make an energy efficient home by putting up wind energy. So there's a lot of good coming out of it, not just saving this historic landmark, but also the material side of it as far as the environment," says Haggard.

He plans to make billboards that show the individual prices each electric company is charging him. He'll hang those billboards on the sides of the home as he's moving it to let everyone know what each company charged.
