Severe weather hits the South Plains causing major chaos across Lubbock.  Heavy rain started falling just after 4:00 Thursday afternoon.  Soon, dark clouds were swirling in the sky and hail started falling around the entire area.  There were even some reports of softball sized hail out in Lubbock County.  All the rain and hail flooded area streets causing dozens of vehicles to stall-out and some of the flood waters even made it into area homes.  Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in the severe storms, but the hail did cause some damage to homes and cars in the area.
