Lubbock County's alcohol debate is getting attention from across the nation. Lubbock's been mentioned in Texas Monthly Magazine, Dallas newspapers, and even MSNBC'S The Rachel Maddow Show. Also, CNN's Ed Lavendera is in town Wednesday and Thursday covering the issue for the cable network. He's speaking to folks both for and against alcohol sales, and wants to show viewers across the nation the passion behind this historic debate.

"No matter where you live in the country and you hear this, it's a fascinating debate, it's an interesting debate. It taps into a fascinating part of our nation's history," says Lavandera.

His piece on the election will air Friday morning on CNN.
