KLBK has learned that City Secretary Becky Garza has filed a federal complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over what she claims is retaliatory actions and harassment at Lubbock City Hall.
In the complaint, Garza accuses Mayor Tom Martin and Councilmen John Leonard, Paul Beane and Jim Gilbreath of retaliating against her for giving testimony concerning several violations of the Texas Open Meetings Act and other incidents including the FBI's investigation into the AAG/City of Lubbock scandal.
Garza also included former Mayor Marc McDougal and Gary Boren in the incidents.
She also claims that she was given unsubstantiated low marks on a job evaluation and that Martin and Leonard threatened to lower her pay.
No one from City Hall has commented on these allegations.
