LUBBOCK, Texas - The Friona football team has been forced to forfeit a win by the UIL.  In the season-opening game against Abernathy Coach Bob Ferguson inadvertently played an ineligible player.  The player, who Ferguson will not name, is a transfer student and his paper work had not been cleared by the District 2-2A executive committee.  The 9-0 win over Abernathy is the only game the player in question participated in, so the Chieftains wins over Morton and Bovina stay intact.  Ferguson expects the player to be cleared for Friona’s game on Friday.
