A Temporary Restraining Order against the City of Lubbock and the TABC is extended with a 90-day injunction.  That means, p
eople in the Hub City will have to wait awhile before they can buy packaged alcohol within the city limits.

Today in Texas State Court, lawyers for the Strip and the City of Lubbock agreed to extend the restraining order on alcohol permits for 90 days.  Both parties said the decision was made to give more time for negotiations over zoning laws.  Owners of the Strip said the City of Lubbock's zoning laws unfairly discriminate against package stores by restricting where they can open and how big they can be.
Lawyers from both parties say negotiations have been moving in a positive direction, but it's estimated September is the earliest we'll see packaged alcohol in city stores.
