Texas is seeing a shortage of doctors int he rural areas of the state.
Today doctors and nurses banded together at Lubbock's Community Health Center to petition Senator Robert Duncan and the Texas Senate to support House Bill 2154.
The bill will allow tobacco tax funds to be used to pay doctor's student loans in exchange for 4 to 5 years of service in the rural communities and clinics.
