First responders usually see a higher number of calls during the summer as more people enjoy the extra sun.
EMS Director Chris Teague says, "people like getting out on their motorcycles and their boats and skiing and lots more activities that all the families can get involved in, which leads to more accidents."
Teague says EMS responds to more calls about violence and serious injuries during the warmer months.
"People are staying out later, there's a little bit more drinking going in the summer than in the winter time, the kids are out of school, they get into a little bit more mischief kinda like the adults do, sometimes, as well."
