Frenship High Teacher Retires after 54 years

One of Frenship ISD's most beloved teachers is saying goodbye this May after 54 years.
Catherine Hamilton teaches Senior English at Frenship High, where she's been since 1970. She says it was her aunt that got her into teaching, with her first job in Jayton.
She says the biggest difference between now and then is technology, of course -- but says the kids remain her reason for staying with it all these years.
After all, teaching is -- in her eyes -- the best way to make a living.
Catherine Hamilton, retiring after 54 years: "You're not going to get rich. But you're going to have a living that is good, and you get to see people that are, you get to see good people, good kids, it's just a good profession."
Mrs. Hamilton says she's most looking forward to never grading another paper, but also, spending a lot of her time volunteering.
