Trial Begins for Kenneth Wilcox

The trial for the man accused of kidnapping three Lubbock children begins in Federal Court today. Kenneth Wilcox is accused of kidnapping the three kids last October. Today -- eight witnesses took the stand, including the parents of the children and Wilcox's own son.
Wilcox claims he was going to take the kids to Six Flags, but police found one of the children in Sutheast Oklahoma a few days later -- the other two were found with Wilcox's family members.
During Tuesday's trial, eight witnesses took the stand, including the parents of the children. They all claim they had no idea what was going on, what the plans were, or even who was going on the trip. However -- the defense caught one mother lying under oath. She originally told law enforcement that she had talked to her daughter that weekend, and that she gave her consent for her daughter to go with Wilcox.
An employee of Wilcox also took the stand, he says the relationships were bad between the kids and Wilcox. Wilcox's own son testified, saying he knew they were never going to Six Flags all along.
An interesting notation from court documents reveal Wilcox bought a machete, a tarp, and a set of furry handcuffs right before the alleged trip to Six Flags.
