Ruston, LA (Sports Network) - Coach Bobby Knight recorded his 876th victory this evening, as his Texas Tech Red Raiders posted a 66-59 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a non-league affair from the Thomas Assembly Center. With the win Knight is now tied with legendary coach Adolph Rupp and is just three victories away from tying the great Dean Smith as the all-time leader in wins. Jarrius Jackson paced Texas Tech (7-3) with 21 points, while Martin Zeno had a solid performance, scoring 18 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists. Kyle Gibson was the only player to produce double-figures for Louisiana Tech (1-6), as the guard posted 14 points in the setback. Texas Tech held the Bulldogs to a lackluster 38.5 percent shooting effort from the field in the opening frame to take a 33-27 lead into the break. In the second stanza, the Red Raiders shot 54.2 percent from the field en route to the seven-point victory. Texas Tech posted a 51 percent shooting effort in the contest, while Louisiana Tech netted 45.1 percent from the field.
