Just as we begin to see swine flu numbers on the South Plains rise, doctors tell us patients with flu-like symptoms are on the decline. Thursday, Lubbock's Health Department confirmed three new cases on the South Plains - and Friday, one new case here in Lubbock County. Doctors we spoke with say the scare of catching swine flu has stopped. Patients are still coming in complaining about flu-like symptoms, but a few folks in Lubbock are still worried about getting the swine flu.

"Some patients are still very worried about it, so if they get a cough or a low-grade fever, they come to the doctor to get it checked out which is fine, but there are more people probably now that are willing to watch and wait," says Dr. Rick Peck with Premier Healthcare Center.

The best way to prevent catching a cold or the flu is to wash your hands frequently, and cough or sneeze into tissues, away from others.
