Lubbock Waterpark Set to Re-Open

Updated: June 1, 2009

Lubbock's only waterpark is set to re-open Monday after over a year of no business.

Texas Water Rampage closed in 2008 after 22 years of operation.  Now, new owners with a new name are hoping the park is a success.  The park hit a rough patch last year and managers tell is bad weather was just one of the reasons they had money troubles.  They also had a decline in attendance, but the same managers are back again hoping the kids will come back for more.

Cody Debois and Chris Young, Park Managers:
"It's a big part of a kid's summer growing up in Lubbock, Texas.  There's not too many places that you can come and get away like this so it's a real nice getaway for kids.  It's been a positive attitude the whole time.  It's a plan A with no plan B type thing, just giving it their all and not looking back.  Don't give excuses and there's no option for failure."
