Hockley County officials have arrested a man they believe to be behind a murder plot.
Investigators tell us 32-year-old Jason Sanders is behind bars in Hockley County.
He was arrested Thursday for attempted solicitation of capital murder and the person he wanted dead was his wife.
Hockley County investigators tell us an ugly divorce was the motive behind this attempted murder.
They say Sanders asked someone for a pipe bomb, with the intent to use it to kill his estranged wife.
That same person then informed Levelland Police of Sanders' plan.
Police set up Sanders and with the help of Lubbock County Sheriff's Office, they constructed a fake pipe bomb and delivered it to him.
"He was caught off guard for sure. I don't think he had any idea that this was part of a sting operation at all," Hockley County District Investigator, Kevin Davis says.
Sanders is being held on $200,000 bond.
If convicted he faces 99 years behind bars.
