The 11th annual Woodystock benefit concert is set to kick off June 12th. The event is held in memory of Woody Miller who died in an industrial fire at his job. Woodystock is held at Lake Mackenzie and this year will benefit two Lubbock children who suffered extensive burn injuries. 10-year-old Kirsten Ellis was severly burned in an apartment fire that killed her mother and brother in 1999, and 10-year-old Levi Cantrell was also injured at a young age in 2002. Event organizer Chelsea Holloway says Woodystock has really meant a lot to the children. She says "its just a way for the community to come together for these kids. They had some tough luck early on in their lives and so we just like to do something fun and nice for them and kinda take that burden off of them for a few days." The three-day concert event is named after Woody Miller who died in an industrial fire at his job. The event features a live and silent auction and music. It is free and open to the public.
