Harris Pleads Guilty

Jury selection began this morning for the trial of Jaffice Lee Harris the Third, but the trial was cut short after the defense arranged a plea deal.
You may recall the story back in November of 2008, Harris confessed this morning to breaking into the home of Ken and Doris Forson in November of last year. He then attacked and beat Mr. Forson with his own cane. Harris was later arrested after trying to steal a woman's purse at the United on 50th and Q later that same day. It seems the evidence against Harris was overwhelming, so he took the plea bargain and now is just waiting for his punishment. During Tuesday's sentenching phase, the prosecution brought several witnesses to the stand who either saw Harris commit the crimes, or were victims themselves in similar scenarios. The trial continues tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. If convicted, Harris faces five to 99 years or life in prison.
