Lubbock, TX - Graham Harrell passed for 425 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a 42-17 win over the Iowa State Cyclones in a Big 12 Conference matchup at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Harrell completed 36-of-43 pass attempts and added a fifth touchdown with a one-yard run in the Texas Tech (5-1, 1-1 Big 12) victory, and Michael Crabtree grabbed 10 passes for 154 yards and three scores.

Todd Blythe had eight catches for 128 yards and a touchdown in the Iowa State (1-5, 0-2) loss, while Bret Meyer threw for just 187 yards and a touchdown for the Cyclones.

Harrell put the Red Raiders ahead 7-0 midway through the first quarter with a 32-yard pass to Crabtree.

Texas Tech took a 14-0 lead late in the period with a one-yard plunge by Harrell.

In the closing seconds of the frame, Harrell found Crabtree again on a two-yard strike that pushed the Red Raiders further ahead, 21-0.

Texas Tech increased its advantage late in the second quarter as Darcel McBath recovered a fumble by Jamicah Bass on Iowa State's own 16-yard line and returned the loose ball for a touchdown.

Iowa State got on the board with under a minute to go in the first half with a 30-yard field goal by Bret Culbertson.

Following a scoreless third quarter Harrell found Danny Amendola for a 17-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to give the Red Raiders a 35-3 lead.

Harrell and Crabtree hooked up again midway through the period, this time on a 15-yard play that extended the Texas Tech advantage, 42-3.

ISU finally found the end zone late in the fourth with a five-yard run by Meyer.

With under a minute to play, Meyer completed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Blythe that accounted for the final score of the contest and left Tech with the 25-point triumph.

Crabtree's second touchdown of the day set an NCAA record for receiving touchdowns by a freshman, previously held by Jabar Gaffney, who had 14. Crabtree currently has 17 touchdowns on the season.
