Clean Up After Fourth Celebrations

Cleaning up after a weekend of fireworks, fun... and a whole lot of people.
While it's a lot of work to put on the largest free fourth festival in Texas, it's just as much work to tear it all down. Driving down Broadway Sunday afternoon, any evidence of the nearly 80,000 that showed up for the festivities Saturday was all cleared away. At Mackenzie Park, the stage was all that was left from a successful Fourth of July concert.
Saturday night, Mackenzie was filled with nearly 40,000 people. Just like the set up, it was the Lubbock County inmates taking it all down.
