Monday's suspicious death investigation is not the first time Lubbock Police have had to dig for clues in North Lubbock County's dusty fields.

There are several, unsolved cases where young women have met an untimely end and thier bodies found in that one particular area.  In the past decade, three dead bodies have been found within miles of this area.  There are five total similar cases of women with a history of prostitution found dead in rural Lubbock fields.

In 1999, the body of 19-year-old Amanda Gschwend was found nearby in a cotton field.  Then, July of 2003, the half-naked body of 21-year-old Cynthia Palacio was found in a bar ditch.  Nearly a year later, 21-year-old Linda Carbajal was found dead on a dirt road.  In 2007, 40-year-old Selena Kuykendall was found stabbed to death and left on a rural road nearby.  The latest was just last year.  29-year-old Monica Adams was found dead and dumped within miles of Monday's location.

All five previous cases remain unsolved.
