Yet another arson Friday night has authorities re-visiting old suspected arson cases, in hopes of uncovering a connection.

Between December 2007 and January 2008, four abandoned buildings caught fire in the 'Heart of Lubbock' neighborhood.

More recently, the Boardwalk Apartments on 19th Street suffered significant fire damage in a suspected arson.

Then Friday, a house in East Lubbock was destroyed in a fire.

Authorities suspect arson in all of these cases and they say there is an obvious connection in each of these incidents.

"This type of crime has gone on in neigborhoods all over Lubbock whenever we've had vacant houses. I mean that's really the thing that brings it all together, is vacancies, not really the people that do the crime, but the opportunity for the crime," Garett Nelson with the Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office says.

Nelson asks anyone who may have any information on Friday's fire or any of the other arsons, to call the Fire Marshal's Office at 775-2646.
