A beer and wine store in Wolfforth is taking full advantage of Lubbock County's alcohol sales expansion. Beginning Wednesday Rick's Place will start selling liquor. The beer and wine store applied for their liquor license back in May, when voters approved alcohol sales expansion in the county. The TABC says they're the first to expand sales. The owner of Rick's Place says they're doing it to save their business, especially since grocery stores in Lubbock will soon get their own beer and wine permits.

"We had to do it because if we didn't do it then we would be here with the beer and wine store without liquor and we'd still have the same loss of product, when everybody gets situated in Lubbock," says Rick Claybrook.

Rick's Place will expand to Lubbock too. They plan on filing for a license next month.
