Last week 28 people were rounded up in a major drug bust involving Methamphetamines and officials say this isn't the first time the drug has taken it's toll. DPS says Meth use has grown rapidly in and around the South Plains and it takes the biggest toll on the addict himself. From weight loss to skin lesions and corroded teeth, rehab director Bob Howell, says the consequences of Meth use can be devastating - "dependency happens pretty rapidly for folks...it is very hard on the cardiovascular system, on the heart and respiratory system, the stimulant drugs are notoriously hard on the body and you can see the ravages of it in a relatively shorter period of time." Despite these consequences, Bob Howell says Meth use continues to be on the rise.
