Former Hockley County Chief Deputy Gordon Bohannon was in Federal Court Monday for his arraignment and detention hearing on multiple drug charges.

The courtroom was filled to capacity with Bohannon's family and friends, watching as he pleaded not guilty to all of his charges.  US Attorney Richard Baker pushed for Bohannon to stay in jail until his trial in September, saying Bohannon is not only a flight risk, but a threat to witnesses in this case and the entire Hockley County community.

The judge did not reach a decision Monday on whether Bohannon should stay in jail.  His trial is set to begin September 22nd.
