Former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is now in Lubbock.  He's preparing to begin his new job as a professor of political science and diversity recruiter at Texas Tech University.

KLBK had the chance to speak with the nation's former top lawyer.  He says he has an intimate knowledge of what goes on when the White House is making important decisions.

That is the point of view that he will attempt to give his students when he begins teaching his class on August 27.

"One of the things I want to do is to talk a little bit about what it's really like behind the scenes.  How are decisions made at the White House?  What are the interactions really like between the White House and Congress?  What's involved in selecting a Supreme Court justice and preparing a Supreme Court nominee?  What's it like to be in a situation in which the president of the United States says, 'OK.  Let's send troops into battle.'?  I've been there, and so I want to talk to the students a little bit about that," Gonzales said.
