Lubbock Police bust a suspected burglary ring, one that not only crossed county lines, but state lines as well.

The Lubbock County Grand Jury indicted six people Tuesday on organized crime.

Both Carl Steward and Dannie Mitchell are in police custody, but the four other suspects are still on the run.

According to court documents, the group was involved in over a dozen burglaries, including several in the Plainview, Midland and Lubbock areas.

Similarities in the burglaries helped investigators to link the cases.

"In these burglaries, phone lines were cut, safes were attacked, forced entry was made to businesses. They used rented vehicles and again, these suspects organized their efforts, planned their efforts and carried them out in a very organized fashion," Lubbock Police Captain Greg Stevens says.

Detectives say they're looking at this group as potential suspects in other unsolved burglaries across the state.
