Tech Can`t Stop Durant

Kevin Durant posted a career-high tying 37 points and a season-high 23 rebounds, as Big 12 rivals collided in Lubbock with the 23rd-ranked Texas Longhorns topping the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 76-64. Durant shot 15-of-29 from the field, notched his fifth 30-point game in the last eight and his 13th double-double of the season, tying him for the most ever in the Big 12. Damion Augustin scored 14 points and dished out 11 assists for the Longhorns (16-5, 6-1), who won their third straight. Damion James added eight points in the win. Jarrius Jackson scored 27 points for Texas Tech (15-7, 4-3), which has still won 10 of its 12 home games. Jonathan Plefka scored 14 points, and Martin Zeno added 13. With the score deadlocked at 29, Texas Tech went on an 8-2 spurt capped by A.J. Abrams trey with 2:39 remaining in the first half, and held a 42-38 halftime advantage. The Longhorns blew the game open on a 29-6 explosion midway through the second half. Tech fell apart after the four-point halftime lead, shooting 8-for-32 from the field in the second. Texas shot 31-for-61 (50 percent) from the field, while the Red Raiders finished 21-for-66 (31 percent) and were outrebounded 43-38.
