With all of the popularity of the Cash for Clunkers program, those old cars have to go somewhere.

They're going to local salvage yards where they are sold for parts and then crushed after 180 days.

Junk yards have become flooded with clunkers.  One owner of a local salvage yard says this part of the stimulus plan has worked.

"Not only has it stimulated the dealerships, but it's stimulated my business. It's also going to create jobs,"said Monty Blount, owner of Lubbock Auto Recyclers.

Blount has run Lubbock Auto Recyclers by himself since 2000.  Because of Cash for Clunkers though, he says he now needs to hire some help.
