22-year-old Philip Ramirez works at the Krispy Kreme near Quaker and the South Loop.  His boss saw someone trying to break into his car,  so Ramirez ran outside and tried to stop the man.

Ramirez says the suspect kicked, punched, and bit him, but he was eventually able to hold the suspect down long enough for police to arrive.

Ramirez says he took action because he just wanted his stuff back.

"My personal safety never came into my head. I just wanted to make sure that [the burglar] got the trouble he was due for," Ramirez said.

"Thankfully I didn't get hurt too bad."

The man was arrested.  Ramirez got his stuff back, and it gets better: because Ramirez is getting married to his fiancee Lindsey Friday evening.
