A Lubbock man was found dead in Palo Duro Canyon State Park over the weekend.

24-year-old Nathan Neel died of a heat stroke over the weekend after going hiking by himself Friday.  Friday afternoon a group of hikers found his body by a trail.

Neel was a youth minister at New Home Baptist Church.  His family and friends say that now that he is gone, they feel they need to keep spreading his ministry.

"I just want everyone to remember that while he may not be here on Earth he is watching over us, and we need to continue his ministry and to just keep reaching out to people because that's what he did," said girlfriend Nicolle Meers.
