Levi King Trial Starts Monday

The trial for one of the most infamous murders in the Panhandle starts Monday at the Lubbock County Courthouse. Opening statements are scheduled Monday morning for the capital murder trial of Levi King. The 26 year-old is accused of shooting a pregnant woman, her husband and son at their home in Pampa back in 2005. The case moved from Gray County to Lubbock because King's trial got too much publicity in the Panhandle. Before the trial moved here to Lubbock, Gray County District Attorney Lynn Switzer talked about the need for an impartial jury.
"I want to try and limit the publicity as much as possible because I have a jury pool that we're going to need to be bringing in and it's very time intense - picking a jury in a death penalty case - so I'm always cognizant of that," says Switzer.
King is already serving two life sentences after pleading guilty to killing two people in Pineville, Missouri - those people shot just a day before the family in Pampa.
