Levi King Trial Postponed

The trial for one of the most infamous murders in the Panhandle was scheduled to start Monday in Lubbock, but there's one piece of evidence holding up the entire case.

Gray County District Attorney Lynn Switzer told the judge Monday morning new DNA evidence was taking longer than expected to process. So the state is now shipping that evidence to a private lab where they expect results to come back within five to six business days. King's defense team wanted to make sure they knew the results of the DNA testing before beginning the trial. That's why Judge Steven Emmert granted them a motion for continuance. King is accused of killing a Pampa family in their rural Texas home back in 2005.

The trial is now set to start as soon as those DNA results come in. They're expected early next week.
