Some look forward to this time of year more than Christmas or their own birthdays!
Texas Tech football is just hours away, but of course folks will be outside the stadium long before kickoff.
For those tailgating, you'll notice a few changes outside the stadium. Obviously construction on the east side of the stadium will close off that lot, but the west side and the United Spirit Arena will still have plenty of spots for your tents, barbecues, everything necessary for the proper tailgate.
If you're under 21, take note that there will be police on patrol doing random checks for ID's.
Student government threw around some ideas earlier this year to change the current alcohol policy, but for this season the policy has not changed. However, student leaders still want to enforce responsible tailgating, in and outside of the stadium.
Suzanne Williams, Student Body President: "We do have a security staff that's in the facility, so if there are problems -- if people sneak things in, that they can take care of those problems, but unless they see something, they're not necessarily going to go up and down the aisles looking for things. That it's really just going to be if there's a commotion or a problem that they see. Yes, we can be the rowdiest and the loudest fans, but also we can be the ones that are the most classy. And approach things the right way, as good fans, for our team. "
Rember there are some things you can't bring into the game with you. That includes alcohol, outside food, and there is a chance for rain but you can't bring in umbrellas. For a full list of prohibited items, check out Tech's Official Athletic website.
